Hi im new I was wondering how i started. 1st I bought 3 players a Center Shooting Guard and a pg just to hole my team down for now ( He's pretty Good!). 2nd I Bought an exceptional pr manager for 20k per week and an advanced trainer for 10k per week. 3rd I built my arena I heard that's the key to building a successful team.

I had my team activated Saturday almost as soon as I finished creating it. I have a good idea next season im gonna go 22-0 and promote to IV League. Also I figured Im Getting 100k from a manager bonus plus Im still making 60k per week so how much should i spend on scouting im thinking about 1 point per week and save it for 3 seasons then spend all my points in the draft that 3rd year. And Im thinking about saving all my money and spend it on my arena after I sell my draftee this year ( If I get a good one ) if not then i'll jjust use the money that I have stored and use that to build my arena.

Last thing, your probably saying who will you train are you going to buy a trainee or what? Well actually im gonna train the power forward and Center i currently have because ill keep my 50k to myself because I dont Think I want to spend money on 18yr olds who im only gonna train just for 3 or 4 seasons most likely less then that 2 or 3 seasons.

So I wanna Hear what you guys think about how im starting off my BB career.

You're wasting your money on that 20K PR manager. There is no way he is going to help you bring in people to make up paying for that salary.

Save your scouting points for when you finish last/close to last in your league, then scout and hopefully find that 18 y/o HOF.

Also, you should change your manager name before a mod bans you.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I would advise firing your staff and keeping the default (2k/week) until you have a better handle on things. With your current trainees you are definitely losing money on the advanced trainer, and the manager is a boondoggle.

Buying that C wasn't optimal but it's not like it will sink your team. The problem is players past 33 decline, and the older they get the faster they decline. Right now you should just be trying to set yourself up for the long term and buying an expensive player who will lose value pretty fast is not the best way to do it. 22k is also more than you want to spend on any single player salary, it is a lot easier to win if you have players with close to the same salary.

I advise trying to find some players in the 5-10k salary range with balanced builds (i.e high secondary skills) for as cheap as possible and sell your C (list him for a price ~25% higher than you paid and keep re-listing him with gradually lower price until he sells). But probably most important is investing in your stadium. I think spending half of all income/cash on stadium, half trying to build a cheap and balanced roster is a decent rule of thumb.

why did yo just put 5 in everything else and 100 bleachers. You're not going to win games so that was deffinately cash wasted.

what I'd do is that keep building lower tier seats. a lot of top level teams said if they built their arena again they'd build more LT. thats what i'm doing, leaving the bleachers last.

buy a pg who passes, has 10 Od and is less tyhan 30 yrs old. then buy a sg with 9 od and 11+ js. with about 8 passing. then buy a PF with 12+ IS a 9 id. then buy a c with 11 rb, 11 id nd 9 is. make sure they're less than 15k salary. that'll get you started. but first invest in those Lower tier!

Sorry to be blunt but this isn't good advice.

With any team that has less than ~13,000 seats the only concern when deciding which sections to add is making money. It's worth investing in every section but overall bleachers give the most bang for the buck. What the top level teams are saying only comes into affect when you are nearing the soft cap on attendance of ~20,000 fans which is not even a remote concern right now. Plenty of time to add LT once you get to D3/2.

Next, those skill guidelines are way too specific and not that good besides. Generally players with higher defense are better. Also some of the best value for D5 teams comes in 31 and 32 year olds since they are cheap, won't decline for 3-6 months, and you need to sell most of those 7k salary players once you get to d4 anyways.

Ok I think im gonna build 1000 bleachers 200 lower tier then 50 courtside seats before I build anymore luxury boxes then focus on everything except bleachers until I even everthing out.Not like 6000 bleachers 600 lower tier or you know ... I meant like 6000 bleachers 700 lower tier 100 courtside seats and have 5 luxury boxes and then build up so I will have 12 0r 15 luxury boxes but im gonna keep my current roster and stay in V league for a few seasons and train a few people.

There are price curves on http://bb-usa.net/blog/?page_id=9 (login required) which shows data for a lot of arenas and can be used to accurately asses average attendance numbers for a given section at a given price at a given level. Using these to calculate which areas are most profitable to expand for the average team would cause someone to spend more than twice as much on bleachers as LT for d3/d4 USA (never checked other divisions but these are the most important consideration for the majority of players). The point you make about bleachers sucking when you lose is factored in to these numbers as all teams have equal weight.
