Hello,
This proposal aims to prevent bot teams (who usually get to take the top draft spots) from stealing the best youngsters, and even potential National Team stars. My suggestion is as follows:
1. Teams which are bot on the day that Draft takes place (ex. during the "daily update" do not have a manager) do not take part in Draft.2. The rest of the Draft plays out as usual, but with less teams should there be bot team/s in the league (ex. a league has 4 bots all of which are rock bottom, meaning there are 12 teams with a manager. The lowest-placed HUMAN team gets the #1 draft spot, the second-lowest gets #2, and so on, until the top team, which gets #12.)
3. With these changes, not all players will get drafted. My idea is that the non-drafted players (who have a skillset, a nationality, height, age etc. but do not have their own pages nor do they have names or faces) are "discarded", meaning they will not be generated and their data is removed.
4. If the "discarding" undrafted players mantioned above is too hard to implement, another solution could be automatically moving bot teams to the end of the draft "queue", so that they take the scrubs. This would simultaneously weaken bot teams and prevent them from defeating "human" teams and, for example, knocking them out of National tournament. This is very rare, but it does happen sometimes and does not bebefit anyone. Examples:
(113593401),
(112366600).
Why is this important? To put it simply, bot teams, especially in leagues where there are a lot of them, have a high chance of drafting away good players, preventing us, managers from taking them.
1. For the last 2 seasons, ever since the buff to 19-year-old draftees, the leader of assists per game in Poland has always been a bot player. That's because some bot had gotten to draft a player with 10,5 passing whom a human could have made good use of.
2. According to
(292708.665) (in Polish) the season 56 Draft contained 8 18-year-old All-Time Greats in the entire BB, of whom 3 were drafted by bot teams. In Poland, 45 18-year-old Hall Of Famers were drafted, of whom 21 by bot teams - that's up to 21 could-have-been National Team stars! Assuming season 56 Draft was not a fluke, in a big "BB country" like Poland (with a lot of users) could lose 20 top notch rookies + tons of other MVP or Superstar potential, who could make great club players! We don't need the 18-year-old bench warmers (besides scrimmage fodder), while bots get top rookies an a regular basis!
I will be happy to answer Your questions about this idea, though I cannot think of any negative consequneces of this.
