Week 5 (Leeroy bludging at work style)Viral Infections vs. Geelong Vipers 126 - 107 (36141568) Both of these teams decided to play Run and Gun on this night which resulted in a whopping 65 3 pointers being taken total! If you think that is impressive then you'll be disappointed to find out that only 20 of those shots made it through the basket. It seemed that neither team was too concerned with defence on the night making for a thrilling and high scoring game.
3 Yuri Abruzzese Viral Infections - Despite being the oldest codger in Nakers squad Yuri shot over 60% and picked his mans pocket 5 times. 38 points 4 rebounds and an assist in 36 min.
2 Louie Humphrey Geelong Vipers - The Vipers most defensive player, keeping his man to 13-39. His largest downfall was giving up the ball 8 times only sweetened by his 7 assists and 7 rebounds. A mixed performance by the veteran but clearly the Vipers best. This gets the old man the 3 votes with the only damper on the night being his 4 fouls.
1 Sidónio Conceição Viral Infections - The Portugal born star swingman Sidónio Conceição made a name for himself in this game, grabbing 7 steals 8 rebounds 5 assists combined with 21 points to land him the last vote.
Quinn Kings vs. TeamAkuma 60 - 87 (36141565)It seems like us Kevin boys like our Isolation tactics but it was not enough for the Quinn Kings to take their second victory in the North. While not a very efficient night for either team in terms of shooting percentage Akuma got the job done early, going up by 20 points in the first quarter alone. After that there was just no coming back from the large deficit.
3 Clinton Abimbola TeamAkuma - Despite shooting poorly Abimbola was Akuma's main source of offence, taking a total of 26 shots throughout the game but only landing 8 of those. What he couldn't do on the offensive end he made up for by keeping his man to 4-17 shooting and 10 points, landing him the 3 votes for his team.
2 Mark Booth TeamAkuma - Mark "The Swingman" Booth as he's known in the Akuma camp was a defensive machine in this game, managing to keep his opposition to 4-18 shooting keeping in mind he did not shoot well himself. 6-16 shooting gave Mark 14 points to go along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
1 Billy Siffredi Quinn Kings - While having a horrible night shooting the ball, Billy was hands down the best player on the field for the Kings. 24 Points 5 assists and 2 rebounds clinches the last vote for Billy.
Hobos vs. Warren Bulls 106 - 87 (36141570)The Hobos were the favourites coming into this game and lets face it, being one of the only two Division II teams in the North I'm not very surprised. There was no trolling in this match as the Hobos got off to a quick start showing that they weren't there to mess around with the scores at 60-44 come half time. From there on out the Bulls had a hard time making up the 16 point deficit and after a rally in the 3rd were overrun in the 4th.
3 Mak ZhaoHong Hobos - Mak the Asian sensation felt right at home in this game, serving up 13 rice balls (assists) grabbing 6 won tons (rebounds) and hitting 11-21 bringing his total to 24 points for the night and earning him 3 vote honours.
2 Roger McComiskey Hobos - Old Roger Dodger played his Ginger heart out on this night keeping his man to 30% shooting while shooting a tidy 50% himself. He piled on 21 points for his team along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Not bad for a horrible player.
1 Johan Hellman Warren Bulls - The Bulls' best player on the night and pretty much their go to guy for offence. Johan shot 16-32 from the field racking up 35 points and 4 rebounds. Not much else can be said about his performance but it's enough to land him the final vote.
