After selling two players, I'm back to a drafted team. (Some players I have drafted before were sold and then reacquired, so it's not fully homegrown.)

My intention is to draft new players, get beaten badly in a new season, and then after a season in III league try to climb back.

After a 20-2 season, it’s another silver trophy for us, as we‘re still unable to beat the best team in Nations of Europe (6 championships in a row now).

We’ve also reached our highest WR ever (175) and Boyd is our first ESL-MVP!

All in all, I‘m happy with the season. We‘re clearly the second best team in Nations of Europe, and now it‘s time to analyze how we can finally reach that Nr 1 spot. After all, the major goal of this project has always been winning a championship…

Another season done and what an interesting season it was. We went very hard for the cup title and managed to make a good run for it but unfortunately we faced the wall in the finals against one of the best teams in the world currently. Still I would say finals is pretty good achievement, especially considering the level of competition in Finland this season.

In the league we did struggle partially due to the cup efforts but in the end managed to clutch in the relegation series keeping us for another season in one of the toughest leagues in the world.

In BBM tier 1 we made it to the playoffs for the 3rd season in the row but again unfortunately lost the first round. Top 64 spot still remains the best result for the homegrown team in the competition for now.

Now we will have to move our sights to the future and go back to the 1-position training. This will mean that we will have to compromise with the roster even more during the next season and making it increasingly difficult to keep our spot in the top division. Furthermore, we unfortunately have to end the training of some of our best players, including Martiskainen, who is now sitting at 147 TSP with only 2-position training. Couldn't quite reach 150 but maybe next time we train guards with the increased starting skills of 19yo draftees.

Hopefully y'all got some good draftees and good luck to all homegrown teams for the next season!

By the way, next season I will have saved more than 100 ponints in the draft.

Starting to plan the strategy...

Hello,

I am aiming to transition to a homegrown team and was wondering, if there is some sort of guide or any tips I can follow.

I was pretty successful in this draft and managed to get 2 promising rookies, but I am a bit lost regarding the overall training strategy for homegrown teams.

I have 5 guys right now I would consider to stay in my team for a while. The rest need to be replaced sooner or later.
My plan is to train 1 season 1v1 F and than 1 season OD. This fits quiet well with my 5 guys. But this would mean that I have to train my rookies of the next season in OD. Which is not the best start for a training plan.

How do you do it? Do you invest in the the draft only every second or third season? Or do you ignore the ideal sequence of training (1v1 -> OD -> etc) and just train what ever you need?
And does it make sense to train OD with 2-position training (PG/SG)? I intended to do that next season, because all of my 5 guys would benefit, even thou that is not the most efficient way.

Any help is much appreciated!

I have no intentions to sell or buy anyone else.

Just to be clear here, you can sell players while homegrown, why not?

If you get draftee you don't intend to train, sell him. Or if you want to replace your older player with new draftee - sell the older guy. That's not against the rules. You simply should not buy any players, all of your guys should be drafted (or already on your team if you're new team).
