I have an 18 year old that I got and have trained each and every week in hopes of making him a U21 player. He met all of the basic requirements when I got him. This is what he looks like as of today.

Owner: The 88s

Weekly salary: $ 3 533
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 44000
Age: 18
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: strong Handling: average ↑
Driving: inept ↑ Passing: average
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: atrocious

Experience: atrocious

I know his FT and ST are low but shouldn't I focus all my attention on the important skills and not "waste" a week of training on FT and ST.

Train free throws and stamina after he has been on the team. He looks like a beast though. Just make sure to get his Inside shot up, but you will have plenty of time because his defensive skills started out so high.

The season Vest turns 21, what should his skills be at to be on the U21 team. For example, 9 JS and 9 OD

I don't want to waste time training a skill if he doesn't "need" any more to make the U21 team.

The answer to your question is at the beginning of this thread. That question is the reason this thread exists. I would advise against only training to the minimums in each category as well, because the competition for the team si pretty fierce, and just because he meets our standards does't mean that there aren't going to be 5 guys in front of him that went above and beyond.

Also, Idk if it was just an example number, but if you're saying he's gonna be 9 JS and 9 OD at 21, thats WAY short of U21 consideration for what im assuming is a guard, as you can see at the beginning of this thread, so if thats the case, I wouldn't worry too much about U21.

Well I think the main things are to get 20-22 defensive skill levels (either 11-11 or 12-10) then passing and rebounding are said to be nice if they are 6 or higher (8+ passing is huge for an SF I think.) then inside shot and jump shot should be 10-11+. As someone else said these are the beginning of this thread but I added a bit more info because I am also trainees SFs so I've asked these same questions.

Personally, while I have used both 1 stamina and 1 FT players on the U21 team, I'd be really averse to playing a guy that's atrocious in both. Those 1 ST / FT guys were very good players otherwise...the player that overcomes atrocious in both better be extraordinary.

hmmm I see only a slight chance of him making the U21 NT due to lower handling and passing starting skills, however NT is a whole other story. He could easily make the National team around age 26 if you really wanted to train him that far down the line and make him a beast.

His IS/ID are fine, but his OD and PA could be better. And I see you're already training that low HA.
