Memories of old times

The 3 wins in a row (132-94) against Jamaica brings back memories of times long past, in season 36 and a few seasons earlier, there were last 3 wins in a row.

But that's not enough. We would also like to win the last game against Nigeria.

Then the elections are coming up again.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for my re-election. OK, 2 votes isn't a lot, but I'm doing my best for the Icelandic national team.

Too bad, opportunity wasted. If you only play normally instead of with crunch time against an opponent within range, you will go under.

I don't know whether it's worth ruining your motivation like that.

It could be that the tactics were wrong, bad positioning, whatever. Get up and carry on. Hope dies last...

A big sorry from me to Iceland.

Since it's been rather quiet in this forum lately and there hasn't been much to say, here's some brief feedback on the NT:

Sure, the results are still unsatisfactory, although there are some players who are trained well and can play a lot. Nevertheless, we have to recognize that many of the opponents are stronger.

Of course, the Nt coach isn't always the brightest candle on the cake... We should have won, especially against Macau, with better tactics and positioning. I won't absolve myself of responsibility.

There are still 5 games left in which I hope for 2 wins. If there were more, even better.

It is important that the players continue to be trained well. And next season the Iceland players will be able to choose their NT coach again. Despite the not particularly good results, let's hope that things get better again. Not only do you have the opportunity to choose the NT coach, but also whether one of your players can play in the NT.

After two quarters, only the greatest optimists thought that we could still win this game. We were 61-50 behind before we remembered the old virtues of fighting and throwing from all positions. It was already the final minute (19 seconds left until the end) when PG Alfreðsson saved us into extra time with his 2-point throw, which we won 18-20.

So we can still win.

PS: It will be quite difficult again against the next opponents Romania and Sweden...

Have seen him.. unfortunately he is almost done ;)

My 4th season as an NT is coming to an end soon.

The results weren't what you might have hoped, although there were a few wins.

Now I ask myself whether a player from Iceland would want to take over or not. If so, that would be fine, if not, I would run again.
