Got a couple of questions:
1. With the recent change to make game shape training less effective, is game shape still critically assessed for potential U21 players? I still attempt to play my trainees 48+ minutes every week (usually getting 10-20 extra at another position) so it probably won't matter for me one way or another, but I was just curious. I noticed my #1 trainee is only "Respectable" in game shape, mostly likely because an injury last week caused him to be used for any extra 45 minutes at SF randomly (so he got 93 minutes overall that week).
2. I saw the age 21 goals for PF were listed as "12IS, 19ID+SB, 12RB, 7JS". My PF trainee probably can't reach that (at least according to the training simulator, he won't). I forget the exact prediction (and am not home right now to check... but I'll edit this post with the correction when I do get home to check), but I feel like the best I could achieve was something like 11IS/ID/RB, 9SB, 7JS if I tried to keep things balanced. As far as potential usefulness goes... is it best to keep everything balanced or should I stack the deck in favor of something to give him some sort of unique worth? Like maybe pump more time into JS so he's a better shooter, despite weaker defense? I'm thinking rebounding might be the best thing to forego if I put less focus on something because it doesn't have 1-position training and thus should theoretically be slower than the others. Any insight/input?
EDIT: I was a little off on the numbers as expected. My current training program projects the PF to reach the following: 7JS, 12IS, 10ID, 9RB, 9SB best case scenario which is again short on the rebounding. I don't see any arrangement to get him anywhere near 12 in RB... so I'm guessing this guy is a sure-miss? Unless there's some other area of focus I can use to make up for it.
I have 2 other 'big' trainees but I'm not sure if either is any better off.
One is a C that projects to: 11IS, 8ID, 12RB, 9SB and also came with 6DR and 6PA if that matters any.
The other is a F that projects to: 9JS, 13-14IS, 6ID, 9RB, 10SB and came with 8JR and 8PA.
I can of course change my training plans to alter the course of the other 2 guys if they're actually more worth investing in.
