Conference finals and crucial game 2s! Turns out the games weren’t as exciting as it sounds…
BC Zalgiris vs BC Bloosa
Once again Zalgiris dominated on the defensive end as they held Bloosa to only 67 points in a 39 point win. They were also very efficient on the offensive end with a 57 FG%. Zalgiris move on the finals in their first season back in the EBBL.
Team Nook vs Aminu
Nook were boosted by the return of Glavonjic for their conference final matchup with Aminu. The top seeds Nook dominated from the start and didn’t look back as they went on to win 97-83 despite having their full bench unit out for the 4th quarter. They head in to the finals looking for their 2nd EBBL title.
Team Nook will host BC Zalgiris in the finals in what is anticipated to be one of the closest finals in recent seasons. Nook did win the sole matchup between the sides this season but both teams have made roster changes since then. Game 1 is on Tuesday.
Arsenal 98 vs Nobiles Slough
36 points in 26 minutes for Bruand off the bench secured Arsenal 98’s EBBL status for next season as they dispatched of Nobiles Slough in 2 games.
Porzigod vs Mortal Wombats
Mortal Wombats also secured their EBBL status with a 70 point win over Porzigod. Due to Porzigod selling most of their team, this series was never in doubt for the Wombats.
Gophers vs Gauson
Despite their best efforts to lose game 2, Gophers managed to beat Gauson’s 3-man lineup by 2 points the secure their EBBL safety.
Nobiles Slough, Porzigod and Gauson are all relegated along with Borac Basket and London Daredevils
In division 2, both top seeds in D2.1 lost their conference finals, meaning either North London United or Detroit Pistons II will gain an unlikely promotion to the top flight.
In the other 3 leagues the top seeds of each conference will battle it out. This means that the final promotion spot will go to either Lancaster City, Alaus Putytes or Durham Wasps. Lancaster and Durham face each other, so assuming Alaus win their series both D2.2 finalists will promote.
