I think it might be an idea to have a daily training update. The overall rate of training wouldn't change but given that one of your players could increase in a stat category any day people would be more likely to log in every day rather than just a couple of times a week.

Then this game would become pointless. Developement is ment to take time. Game would be full of monster players and potential would not mean almost anything. Right now people who log in 2 times a week are as competitive as guys who log in several times a day. This is how it should be.
If you want a speedy game then BB is probably not for you.

I think what he wanted to say is that training should be look like this:

Player A (high subskill) - pop tuesday
Player B (medium subskill) - pop thursday

both improve because of training.

because player A has a higher subskill he pops earlier in the week as player B - in the current system they would both pop on friday.

I dont think that would be a great improvement, because the impact of a single skillup is marginal at best imo.

Yes that is exactly what I was trying to say.

It wouldn't necessarily improve your player any quicker but it would get people logging in more, to check a daily report, which would get them more involved in the game as a whole and make them more likely to stick around.

In this case it would strain the servers even more. Running updates for every player every day.
Basically I understood the point kinda wrong in the beginning.

i believe many players get confused with the 48 rule, with such an system. Because they expect another training update after the next game.

I also don't see the big improvement, maybe it would be funny and make it easier to determine the effect of less then 48 minutes a week.

This is very unlikely to happen - it's way too much of a radical change from the current system for very little benefit.

Fair enough, didn't really think of the server strain...

i don't like it
this way you should set your training in advance
i want to have the opportunity to change my training if minutes go bad

Indeed not such a good idea, also because you have to choose 1 type each week, and the system can't go figuring out what you will choose, so will not know which skills get trained. So to make it work you will get the training the week afterward, and I don't think many will like that.

An other trainingchange I am thinking about at this time, is to be able to choose 2 trainingtypes and add percentages on them. This way you can vary training even more then now.
for instance: this weeks training would be blocking for centers and PFs (60%) and inside shot for SF-PF and C (40%).
or: handling for PG (70%) and jump shot for the guards (30%)

This would still leave the option to train 100% on 1 type each week, as it is now, but it would add options to teams who want to develop a very balanced team, which I think is a plus...
I also let's you train 1 specific type of player, while still improving the rest of your team as well.
Now, if you want to train good PGs, you actually need to neglect the rest of your team. You could indeed train 5 weeks the PG, and 1 week the others, but still you will only get 1 type of training for the rest of the team every 6 weeks.
It would take ages to get the rest of the team keeping up somehow, or you won't be able to train your PG at a decent rate...

I guess it's not THAT hard to change the code for it.

I'd like to know if other users think it a good idea. Since it somehow leans towards a system where you could switch trainingtypes dayly (I actually thought it would be proposed when I read the title), I think it fits in this thread...

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

if you rotate trainingsposition it won't be a problem, and they will improve on the same rate if you just train him every 5th week them every week with 20%.
