so do we get a number of free scouting reports when the draft comes along? im pretty sure last season i didnt do any scouting but i still was able to get some reports, but i want to make sure that we do get a few for free before i scout more

It's something like 20 first scout, and 6 complete scout.


it is less, and there are no guaratees about complete or single scouting.

I am a noob, so sorry about the seemingly obvious question, but I cant find any players to scout - do I need to select a scouting option (1 for $5000) and then they will appear? Or will they just appear closer to the end of the season?

Any scouting you do will not show until right before the draft at the end of the season. It is random who you scout, you don't get to pick who you scout.

No mone you are putting into scouting now counts. There will be 48 players to pick for your league. For every paid scouting report you will get an info about one player (or some player can be a will be scouted twice so you will have more detailed info about that player) In addition you will get some free reports - this is done to prevent totally blind picks for the very new players registered just before the draft.

Then you adjust that list of 48 players to make a list of your preferences who to take. I.e. most wanted player to first slot etc. You will get highest positioned player of this list not already taken by others each round at the¨time of your turn (3 players total).

I am not spending much on scouting cause I am trying to upgrade my team. Being that I am near the bottom of the ladder and will get a good draft pick, should I be spending all my money on scouting?

If you will have a top 5 pick, then I would spend the extra money on scouting. 20k is a good weekly amount. You should be able to get your 1st or second choice of draft picks from the scouting list.

If you have a top 5 pick, definitely throw some money in to scouting. At this point, you can only scout for 3 more weeks [the list comes out after week 12]. If you devote 20k, you can add 6 more players to the list. 6 is better than 0.
