Anybody else experiencing issues with this?
In my league this year the #1 seed in the Great 8 had a worse record than the #4 seed in the Big 8. The problem is that I struggle to see how this can be resolved as only one team from each side gets promoted each year. Is there any way of judging the relative strength of each squad so that at least the "better" of the two teams that comes down gets put into the weaker conference? It'll make the conference less competitive in the short term but in the longer term wouldn't this balance out the strength of the two conferences?
Or am I just talking rubbish?

Similar problem in my league for the last couple of seasons. This season on the Great 8 side, teams 1-6 are above .500, but the Big 8 only has two teams above .500. It's
been a while since the Big 8 was anywhere near as competitive as the Great 8.

It doesn't necessarily work out that way, though. If you look at my league from last season, the Great 8 had five teams above .500, but it was the Big 8's lone team above .500 that promoted.

I didn't mean to imply that it should work itself out in a single season, and I'm not trying to whine about it. I'm just giving an example that goes along with what the original poster was talking about. I'm perfectly happy to sit back and wait for the leagues to even themselves out

I disagree as well. The weaker division gets the benefit of TIE almost every game and running through the playoffs at a double digit enthusiasm where the stronger division has to play every game to win.

Yet, it's awful. I think to balance this, the demotee should always go to the conference with the least wins.

What exactly does that do?
NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live
