This player
(4221917) played whole season 8 in my team (won MVP in addition). I sold jim in season 9.
In season 8 he played more 15 league games. He made 13.4 rebounds per game. Only 2 players had better record in rebounds, but he is not in table of league leaders for season 8 anymore.
I have seen for a few other sold players with solid records and neither they are not in league leader even if they should be. I'm not sure how it works for retired players, I haven't found anyone.
