I don't know if this qualifies as a "bug", but the interface for adding seats to the arena is confusing (if not completely wrong). I tried to add about 1500 seats to my arena and for some reason I ended up getting a contraction of 1500 seats.

I can't figure out if I just didn't read carefully enough (I'm locked out of there while the 11 day construction process occurs), but I'm pretty sure the interface is just wrong. Regardless, I know that I did not enter a negative number, so I just can't understand how my arena is being downsized. The interface for this needs to be redesigned. Specifically, you shouldn't be able to contract your arena without entering a negative number.

Anyone else have this problem?

Is there any chance that the GM's can cancel an in-progress contraction?

The very first section of the Arena page is very clearly marked as a contraction area, not a building area.

There is a separate area on the page to build seats.

Unfortunately, the contraction cannot be reversed.

I would dispute the "very clearly marked" portion of your statement. Also I understand that others have had this problem as well, so I don't think it's very clear.

Regardless, the mere fact that first section on the Arena page is for contraction really proves my point. Who thought that placing contraction first is good idea? Other than it's too logical, what's wrong having a single area with negative numbers for contraction and positive numbers for expansion?

How is this not clear?

Sell Seats from Your Arena
During Season 9, we implemented a new system for allocating TV revenue that was more realistic. Those leagues in higher divisions or with the most superstars are now able to broadcast their games to a wider audience. While weekly TV revenue for these teams has increased as more people now follow their teams from home, in Season 10 it will be much harder to fill a very large arena, and some teams may be left with many empty seats.

During Season 10 (and only during Season 10), the BuzzerBeater commissioner is allowing all teams to "sell" some seats from their arenas to account for the new attendances. It will take approximately as long to sell a group of seats as it did to build them, and they can be sold for the same construction price. You will receive the money for the sale only after the contraction is complete

comon guys, this cant be serious?

It's obviously a mistake.

I love Buzzerbeater and try to get my friends to play it too. I've been a supporter since day one, when i joined and i'd really need a GM's help to alter this mistake.

Seriously, the devolopement is really great - but there has to be one person in the BB management to look into the scripts and just simply change the - to a +.

I've been extending my arena since couple of seasons and i never really paid much attention to anything else than the fields where you put in how much seats you want to build... and like the guy above mentioned, didn't add a - or anything negative.

I reckon i've spent around USD 80 for Buzzerbeater, it's not all that much - but it's still not nothing to be aloud some help when really needed.

I ll pay you guys 20$ via paypal to change it - i'm really serious. I understand that work like this would take some time and i'd be willing to pay for it.

please answer again, because it shouldnt rest the way it is now..

EDIT: When i saw the result of the decrease in about 2'000 seats i thought.. "ah shit, what the hell?!" - but then i thought, ok it's obviously a mistake and i am confident that a BB or GM will be able to undo it and i know it's possible. It's probably one of 500'000 files on a FTP server, team-nummer -> open up a file and alter the script. Common, it is possible and it's something we deserve as well.

EDIT 2: It would also make sense to build in a "Stop Build" option.. i could understand that an extension couldn't be stopped, since you would just use the seats built by that time.. but if the decrease could be stopped, e.g. after 1-2 days of work, they reduced 300-500 sits. Ok, so be it.. at least one could start to build again, but like this.. being locked out for another 14 days (well, actually its gonna be like 16-17) and then having to wait another 30 (again actually 32-35 days) is really a pain in the ass.

GMs can't do this sort of thing.

Only the BBs have the access to do this sort of thing.

That's understandable, i also wrote Marc and Charles a little message and i truely hope they will be able to help.

EDIT: I am sorry to spam you here like this, you're a good GM - always helping out and giving quick responses - so don't take it personal when i am letting myself out on you. But when i imagine you being a BB fan like me and the same thing would have happend to you out of various reasons (.. i actually blame my gf for chatting with me and stressing me to come watch TV.. but yeah, she's anyway all pissed off that i spend that much time on BB)... i could imagine that you'd also try to get some real help on this matter.

we decided that since arena contraction effects NOBODY else except for you, and that we only were giving the money at the end rather than at the beginning we could implement a cancel function without worrying about any possible effects on other users.

NOTE this is no way indicates that we are going to implement similar "cancel" functions for other parts of the site. For example, cancelling a listing of a player, or a scrimmage, or something of the sort, because in all of those cases the act of listing a player affects not only the team that listed him, but also the teams which might have decided to pursue him on the transfer market rather than another player... even if they didn't make a bid.
