Play him from starter for your 2 league games? you'll get under 90min most likly, and don't use him in SC (just the chance of injury there).

Is he a trainee?

If not a trainee the best solution is to get a player who can compliment his abilities for difficult games. Not being sure of his stats, I can only make a suggestion, but say he can score & rebound, get a player from the TM who can rebound & defend. Or if he can do all equally, get a player who has 2 standout abilities to take advantage of opponent weaknesses.

This will allow you to pick Grijalba as backup during some league matches reducing his minutes.

I had the same problem with Holmes (SF) in my team.

They sometimes loose forum when bewteen 80 and 89 (happened to me once) so it should be still ok, as logn as your players get under 90.

I've heard 96 mins (two full games) is when players start to lose game shape, so 80-90 mins should be ok. It might make him respectable form instead of strong, but that's probably worth him playing the extra 15 or so minutes in your league game. It's something you as a manager have to decide how best to handle.
