Every time I update my profile (and it's often for me), I get resubscribed to Help-English, which I have no interest in ever having to read again.

the same thing happens also when you change your language, only you are subscribed to that language's help forum

I guess that's reasonable enough. No Help forum subscription on no submitted change to the language choice would seem more natural, though.
