http://buzzerbeater.com/match/15567902/reportmatch.aspx?r...(15567902)I know this may not be the right place to post this, but i find it very interesting and amazing. If you watch the 4th quarter and OT, you will understand. Due to the combination of my inexperience and stubbornness, I only dressed five players, because I wanted full 48 min. training for as many players as possible as efficient as possible. (In my previous game last week, my point guard fouled out in the 4th, but i managed to hold on to win it). My team had led pretty much all the way (except for the first couple minutes of the game), until the third quarter. With 1:33 left in the third quarter, my SF fouled out, having played 34 minutes. He was replaced my a
lucky fan. At the end of the third quarter, my team was trailing by 5. At the beginning of the 4th, my team went on a 9-0 run. A
lucky fan was a big part of it by getting the offensive rebound of someones missed jumper and dunking it in, bringing my team within 1. Then later, "new ritchy nets" took the lead. Somehow, my team managed to keep up, helped by
lucky fan hitting a key jumper to stay close with the other team. With less than 2 minutes left, we were down by 7. I had lost hope in the game, and was about to close it after my starting point guard managed to get commit 4 fouls in just 39 seconds!!! , fouling out of the game, replaced with another
lucky fan.We pulled within 3 points with 21 seconds left, and the other team took a 3 pt. and missed (guarded by
lucky fan). Then
lucky fan pulled down the rebound and the coach called time out. We needed a 3 pt to tie, but my 2 best 3pt shooters had fouled out, and i was stuck with 3 inexperienced big men and 2 lucky fans. I was hoping Moses Trout would take the 3, as he was the only one that any coach with any sense would let shoot, but instead, with 17 seconds left,
lucky fan took and MADE a 3pt, tying the game.
Then in overtime, I had even less hope with 3 exhausted players and 2 lucky fans, playing an away game against a team with 12 dressed players and the same league record as me (7-2). Then, down by 3 in OT,
lucky fan got an assist to pull within 1. With 9 seconds left in OT, the other team missed a jumper, and
lucky fan got the rebound and coach called TO. With 4 seconds left, my PF's pass was intercepted and
lucky fan fouled the player with 2 seconds left to force free throws. They missed both of them, my player got the rebound with 2 seconds left, and Moses Trout hit the a buzzerbeating (no pun intended) 3pt at the buzzer to win the game!
At the end, the two
lucky fan 's shot a combined 3-6 from field including a 3pt, for 7 pts. They had a combined total of 4 rebounds (1 offensive) and an assist, with just 1 turnover, compared to the rest of the team's 20 turnovers. In fact, they ended up scoring the same amount of points in 25 min. as my starting center did in 53 min. They also took 3 less field goals and two less free throws than my starting center.
I had always thought that
lucky fan 's would make your team play horribly, but that wasnt the case tonight (granted they might not have played perfect defense, but at least no silly fouls).
P.S. The ironic thing is that it was an away game, so the
lucky fan 's were most likely fans of the other team... I wonder how they got the guts to do it in front of their fellow fans, they must fear for their lives now (especially the one that hit the game tying 3pt at end of 4th).
P.P.S. Sorry Rickyman, the outcome of the game was really unfair to you, and you got screwed over big time. ;-(
P.P.P.S. Rickyman, some friendly advice: next time dont let those two fans into the arena to watch any more of your home games :D
