Dear BB's, dear everybody

I play this game now for quite a while and i believe, one skill is missing, thats very important.

In real life body strengh is very important, thats why players do weighttraining, starting at high school.

New proposed skill: Strength

Strength:

Defense: Helps the player to keep players away from the basket and improves the rebounding, because offensive players dont get to the basket well. This happens at all positions.

Example: A guard with a low skilled strengh doesent get to the basket easily if the defender is high skilled in strength, so the offensive player will more likely take a bad shot. (He should have passing to get out of this situation)

Offense: Strenght helps to get easilier to the basket and get some offensive rebounds, also he will make more shot when he gets fouled.

For example: Matchup very strong guy (shaq) againt a weak player (Bradley), every time an easy post up.

i think this skill is already included in the main skills, so to get nice in inside defence you also had some extra visit in the gym.

Also it is difficult to set new skills to the sets, because it could change the way you should train a player and you had problems with the starting values. So what would you do with the center who already hit his cap(or is to old to learn with an decent tempo), and now starting with mediocore strength?

PS: i think guards would need speed, to get to the basket and fewer power the pushing below is more part of the big guys playing ;) So in the end you need a full athletik stack of skills.

I agree with some points. I changed my mind about the skill, i would combine strengh and speed to one trainable skill, called Athlethics for example. I would put to effect to maybe 10% to 20% for certain situations.. so for example, a much stronger players steals the ball 20% more likely.. he gets the rebound 10% more likely, he gets fouled 20% more likely, he gets insured 20% less, he dunks the ball 20% more likely,

If you play push the ball, you ll get more easy layups due to fast breaks.. more post up matchups to win or loose, like in real life..

Tactics to add would open the possibility to play Isolation plays and you can choose the player you want to play it.. Defense tactic to double team a great player..


the cap could be opened for this skill to 10 maybe, or all players get the skill respectable, when its introduced.. (like all players had potential all-star when the potential was introduced)

make it viewable and trainable

like in real life, do weight training you get stronger and faster

I think speed is in a way is already implement in other skills. Driving for instance or outside defense.

Yes but it is not clear.And also the players have stamina,stamina for what?If you dont know how much your player runs why you need the stamina.
"Driving for instance"

The driving isn't only for PG SG & SF it is also for PF & C.If a PF/C has good driving skill he will take better shoots.In this case it isn't driving skill used as speed.

currently the physis of a player is included in the skills, i think with all the problem which the addition of the new skills brings you could stay with the system whichis easier to understand(and today it is even to difficult, why you need other "unknown" factors in it)

If every skill was "clear", each player would have 50+ skills, and it would be a giant mess.
