Hi,I have two ideas about the game...One regarding statistics and one about tactics used...

1)Add the PER (player efficiency rating) thing in player's page...It doesn't have to be the exact formula Mr. Hollinger uses,and I don't think he would say no to a basketball game willing to advertise him...

2)Add the -/+ indicators in the boxscore...(I know,that is what we have ratings for,but wouldn't that be nice??)

3)Some more tactics to be used in the game...I mean,being able to give directions to your coach to run "Isolation" with your point guard,say,5 times in a game or something like that...



What do you think??Please a GM or a BB at least reply,I put my mind into this

1) Don't know what PER is...
2) +/- Indicators is the best part in my opinion in ESPN
3) Tottaly agree (e.g. Play 15-18 Pick 'n' Rolls in this game)

i also don't know it exactly, but it is something like the effiiciency Ratings(eff), which combines all stats:

eff = Points - missed shots + total Rebounds + Steals + Blocks + Assist - turnover

for this purpose there are some different systems, some with weigths which make it maybe a bit more accurat.

If they woulld add some stats BA would be a nice addition too. Some players don't know their shots are blocked a lot.)

+/- has been suggested multiple time. I assume it would require some extra bookkeeping to the game engine...maybe we'll get it one day. :-)

Maybe there's someone who has spreadsheet format on this formula... The formula is freakin' long...

I don`t know about NBA, but Euroleague should use quite simple one, as they can say eff any time during the game... This would be really useful as we could see if our leaders really are the team leaders... The rating that we have now is kind a useless for me, course it shows skills not what he done in game... No, I think its the same formula. Its just that Europeans are better in math...

Euroleague uses this formula to count out effectiveness rating points

eff=points scored+rebounds+steals+assists+blocks+fouls against player-(shots missed(FG+FT)+blocks received+turnovers+fouls)

so in this case we don`t have: fouls against player(X), blocks received(Y) stats in BB.

I would like to see this changing current player ratings in game stats as soon as possible...

So from ranting I get now from stats I could think that Ulba did well job and so on, but if I count his effectiveness rating points I see that he wasn`t good at all and almost played for my opponent not for my team.

If player gets minus in his eff so that mean he plays as you opponent not as a team member, this could be considered (at any time of game) as he have to sit down on the bench and think a little bit about his performance before coming back on court (but this would be to difficult to implement into GE though)
