While the trade deadline is all well and good in theory so most people have already played their TV games and have enough money to buy a player before the deadline. The problem is that some people (including me) have their 3rd TV game as their last game of the season which is past the deadline and means there are less players that we can buy and they will be much more expensive.

It would be much better idea to have players to play a certain amount of league games to be able to play in the playoffs.

hey im in the same position..

just think of it the other way.... after the deadline im sure players values will fall as they are ineligible til the start of the new season.. so you can get more for your TV money!!

im sure it will be the same for everyone over the course of 3-4seasons..

Actually, I'd prefer the trade deadline to be moved up to about game #16 or #18.

as long as its the same rule for all... we'll get used to it.. for most of us this is our first season and money is tight so every little helps!

If you're relying on TV money to be competitive in the playoffs, your team probably isn't good enough to make a deep run anyways.

The deadline has been known for awhile now, and there's been plenty of time to plan.

The TL orgy that is going on right now will dissipate once the deadline passes, and you'll be able to use that TV money to get a bargain for next season.

Juicepats defends daytrading on the ground that stuff shouldn't be forbidden without a clear reason

That's not quite what I said.

Without rehashing that thread, there's a difference between defending something and not really being concerned about something.

No, but it was a part of it.

I just want to make sure we're clear on my position.

Teams that have clinched a position, might want to TIE the last game. Those who do not have a TV game aren't concerned about possibly losing to a weaker team. Those who do have a TV game face the danger of losing supporters throughout the playoffs (if they do TIE), or the loss of enthusiasm (if they do)

I suppose that's something that should be considered.

If it was set up so that TV games could not come in the last week of the season, it wouldn't really hurt my feelings.

If it stays the same, it really wouldn't bother me all that much either.

For the record, my last game, which I will be TIEing since it doesn't matter for seeding, is a TV game.
