Hi I have a question about outside defense.

Now with the new option to play different position offensively then defensively I wondered where the outside defense is the most important. If I have 10, 9 and an 8 outside defense where should I put the 10? On the PG SG or SF defensively. I think PG but I am confused because it's told that Outside Defense is one of the most impotant skills at the SF position.

Hope someone could help me with this.

Thanks in advance

I think it would depend on the opponent and the defensive tactic you're playing.
if you play full court press or 1-3-1 then you might put it on PG to get more steals, but then again if the opponents best scorer is a SG you should put him there, and if you play 2-3 there's no point on putting it on SF.
So, study your opponents strengths and knowing your weaknesses try to compensate by switching defenders differently in different games.

exactly my thoughts. I am facing a very strong perimeter team that i know that the best shooter of that team is the PG. I will put my SG (best defender) on him, and my PG on his SG
