Hi!

I bought few weeks ago a player, who has very good JS and JR, but his OD is atrocious, so he isn't great SG, and he isn't great SF either cause most of the skills are 1-3. However, I have played him in starting five, and what I have noticed, is that he only gets 5,0 or 6,0 in player ratings, while my other players score easily 11,0. That brings me to the question- is that player worth to keep? He surely is a great 3-point shooter, and scores average of about 20pts/ per game, but his ratings are weaker, than even the reserves of my team.

David Campra(2338213)

Jump Shot: sensational Jump Range: tremendous
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: strong
Driving: respectable Passing: awful
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: mediocre
Rebounding: inept Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: respectable

Experience: mediocre

Such a low rating is not a big surprise with an atrocious OD, I guess...

I'd only play him against teams that have very very little to non-existing Outside Offense.
In general, I'd say that he's too one-dimensional as he can really only shoot. He can't even pass or grab a rebound.

If I had him on my team, I'd probably try to get rid of him and get someone with a bit less Shooting abilities but at least some OD. Then he might even have a lower salary.

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

Don't forget the defensive matchups feature. I analyzed it a bit and it seems like he can get 7,5-8,0, when I play him as SG. Still nowhere near what I hope. I got one SG, who was described in your last paragraph, so I played Campra as a SF, what obviosly wasn't a good idea. If I should sell him, I would get a good all-rounder to take his position on SF.

I wouldn't play him as SF due the lack of OD AND the lack of Rebounds. Rebounds are important for SF.
He might play SG in offense and SF in defense but still, I don't like him...

He may get higher ratings as SG when there's a bad player against him, so he doesn't have to defend a lot.

Play him as a backup SG or against team with really bad Outside Shooting + inside offenses.

for me a bit, because defence didn't matter in the ratings when they defend a different position ;) But i would sell him, because player without D seems uselexss for me, the other way seems to be workng better.

Is that true? If I have my PG defend the opponent's SF, the PG's defense doesn't play a role in his rating? I can't imagine that :-|

Yes, and their ratings are crap because they probably don't have the skills to defend the PF and the C. So how does this support your argumentation?

Didn't you say that their defense doesn't influence the player rating if they defend out of position?

so you think the sg got a 2,5 in rating, with 60k salary and can defend the c? how do you think he is looking IS 27 ID 1 and Reb 1?

I am sorry, but your center was got absolutely torched on defense. The opposig centers shot 11/13 for a PP100 of 130+. This speaks for a very, very poor defensive rating.

This makes sense, given that his backup is almost as good as your starter, his starter has x2 the salary of your player, and your guy never got any rest during the game.

Toss in the god-awful offense, which was not unexpected, and you have a 2.5 rating.
