Just a question here. I put this player in as my power forward for my last game.

Joseph O'Neal.
Jump Shot: mediocre Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: awful Handling: respectable
Driving: respectable Passing: average
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: inept Free Throw: average

J. Oneal 32 minutes 1 - 8 shooting 1 - 2 three-pointers 0 - 0 free throws 1 offense rebound 5 total rebounds 2 assists 2 turnovers 0 0 6 fouls 3 points 4.0

Just wondering here- what caused such a poor performance with his shooting, and what caused so many fouls?

Being new, I have no idea what would cause these things, so any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks ahead of time.

Another question I have, is the game ratings from these two players who split time at Shooting Guard.

SG R. Dardalla 27 min. 6 - 8 fg 1 - 2 three pointers 3 - 5 free throws 0 5 rebounds 0 3 turnovers 1 steals 1 blocks 3 fouls 16 points scored 5.0
SG T. Olson 21 min. 5 - 10 fg 3 - 5 three pointers 0 - 0 free throws 1 Offensice Rebounds 2 total rebounds 1 assists 2 turnovers 0 steals 0 blocks 5 fouls 13 points 6.0

Ok so from my perspective, the guy on top had a much better game, sinking 75% of his shots, and grabbing more rebounds- he had a block and a steal and two fewer fouls, plus three more points scored.
The guy on the bottom played 6 less minutes, and only sunk 50% of his shots, but 60% from the three point court. he had an offensive rebound, and an assist that the other guy didn't. One less turnover, but two extra fouls.

How is it that the guy on top had a worse rating for the game than the guy on the bottom, and does that rating even matter???

re: O'Neal
It could be a whole lot of different things including:
- Dumb luck. There is a significant degree of luck involved in each simulation.
- You may have low offensive flow, particularly from your PG. He may have only gotten the ball in situations where he was getting non-optimal shots
- Opponent's defense. You might have had him lined up against a much better defender, and the opposing team as a whole could be a very good defensive team.
It's hard to tell but it's likely that it's some combination of all three things.

re: Ratings
Ratings don't just reflect the stats that show up in the box score. It also reflects things like helping the offensive flow and playing defense. If your starting SG isn't dishing out a single assist then I would expect him to get a low rating.

Thanks a ton!

With the PF problem (1-8 shooting, 1-2 from 3 point range)- you're more than likely right. Reviewing the game stats... they had 15 blocks! Yeah, they have a really good defense the entire game.
