i have read that players should play no more than 70 minutes a week but if they play a game of take it easy does it affect them as much?

Enthusiasm have no direct influence on minutes.
60-70 minutes a week is optimal. You should try to keep all your players within that range though it wouldn't hurt to go as high as 80 minutes just that gameshape probably will not change.
