I received a BB-Mail from a future opponent that I had never talked to before. All it said was "kiss my ass". Not a big deal, but I don't want to hear from the idiot again. I would like to be able to block him from sending me additional messages. Would make a good feature in general.

You can also click the Report Spam button on the BB-Mail and a GM will handle it for you.

but blocking the user from being able to send you any BB-mails anymore would still make some sense and I would like to see this feature.

Well, I see two things with that sort of email.

First, he was just trash-talking, and chances are, since was only one email, the guy was probably just having fun. Once email isn't SPAM. It just may have been in bad taste.

Second, the use of language on his part seems very poor, to say the least. This is a family game, and you could be 10 years old for all he know. Maybe emails need a language filter? Just a thought.

But I agree that blocking emails is a good suggestion. This was probably a bad message, and hopefully one that the sender will feel bad about if this was pointed out to him. However, I'm sure there are worse out emails that can and have been sent, and just being able to block certain senders who routinely have bad judgment, and you just don't want to get any messages from them.

This was an excellent thing to bring up on the Suggestion board, IMHO.

i play poker on partypoker from time to time, the chat uses a language filter with the result that you hae to t_y_p_e e_v_e_r_y w_o_r_d like that, so that it isn't catch some of the filters - we have so much languages here that you can make this work solid.

But if you are "attacked" by the mail, you could report it and the user will eventualyl get a fine. At least a player i know lost several 100k for sending a "FU" after losing a bidwar. So the gm also care of a friendly or at least not that harsh tone into the game, if you like to trash talk better make it with people you know and who have the sense of humour for it.

And as I was GM for a really long long time, I can ensure you that at least in LTU that was the major problem most of the times and not only talking about BB-mails, but forum is a really huge problem from time to time...

I don't have a sense of humor. None at all. Zero. I think the chicken never should have crossed the road. I think all priests, rabbis, lawyers, doctors, dogs, etc. should never walk into a bar. I think we should only have doorbells so that nobody can knock twice on a door. I don't think anyone should ever change a light bulb. I think yur momma is a fine lady...

that means that there are people who do not have it and it is impossible to do anything about that, so it is a huge problem from time to time then user does not have sense of humor, so take every message as offensive one. So blocking would help time after time to avoid confrontations.

I do not offend your sense of humor as it is pretty much good one as I see.

I've got a sense of humor. I'm Irish, after all.. But I don't think profanity should be used when you don't know the other person. Like the man said, I could be 10 years old (although, I'm more than 50 years past that, lol).
