Hey, what's going on here? When there is a huge inflation everyone wants to talk about it. However, when prices start dropping everyone is silent.

I have been watching the transfer compare price of almost all my players and have noticed it slowly dropping, starting just before the playoffs. I have also watched many players not sell during the past couple of weeks, even though they were priced at their transfer compare price (or even lower on some occasions).

So is this the usual end of season drop and will we see prices ramp up again in the new season? Or is this finally the market correction that we have been looking for?

I think its just because its playoffs now and nobody is really interested in getting new players yet and everyone is waiting for the draft etc. I think prices will rise a lot at the beginning of new season, I hope I'm wrong, but only time will tell!

Ditto. Naker Virus is correct. I just grabbed a SF that I'm sure would have gone for nearly double what I bought him for if he was on the TL a month ago. So, having noted this recent trend on the TL, I suggest that now's a good time to be a buyer if you're in the market to buy (and make a mental note of this since I've seen this happen every offseason. My best buys have all come within two weeks of the playoffs starting or during the playoffs). And if you want to sell during this time, make sure your opening sale price is one you could live with since you can't count on a auction getting too high, and your player may sell well below what the market will bear in just a few short weeks.

But, check out other posts from the last several weeks that has folks speculating that players salaries for the best players may be due for another big jump, so beware that when you buy a player now, the salary you think you're getting may end up taking a bigger chuck of your income than you anticipate. Maybe some of the veterans are anticipating this possibility and are 1.) waiting to see what sort of salary changes may take place before taking on more payroll and 2.) waiting to see if salary increases are severe and a flood of top-end players hit the market when teams try to dump payroll, which of course would likely lower the sale prices of some top talent.

Let the salary changes rumor mill begin.

It's the usual drop. It's hard for the finances of a team to sustain the salary of a player(maybe also big) when your team is out of the playoff and you have any incomes for 2 or 3 weeks. So,if a user want to sell a player,he has to drop the price of that player to attract a buyer. It's a market rule, you can use well or not the possibility that it gave

The salary difference is offset a bit by merch revenue, depending if the player is home grown and if he is on an NT.

Also, as I said, I noticed this drop before the transfer deadline. While for sure some players were still selling at high rates in advance of the transfer deadline, for the most common type of player I did notice a drop in price.

Finally, I shopped at this time of year last season and while there may have been a difference, it was no where near the same level as this season.

I'm hoping to drop my first starting players (players I got at the beginning of my career) and replace them with good strong defending scorers..Thats the best kind of player there is, eh?

Are you serious? Good shooters who can defend well are good players?
How could I not see that...

the merch revenue is the same of the other weeks, the other incomes drops ;D
And you have to see the prices of the market in the pair of weeks before the start of playofss, when very often the most important movements are made by the teams(it's difficult that a team who want to buy a player for the playoff has only a plan about a plaer whose auction will end near to the trade deadline)
