Here's my stab at a season preview for the Vernacular Homicide PL.
Work in progress... I'll be updating this sporadically until it's done.Salisbury Auerbachs (22777)Managed by the ubiquitous GM-JuicePats. Season 2 NBBA runner-up and currently leading in the Season 3 NBBA finals. Heavily invested in American bigs, led by USA NT players Dirk Trujillo
(342630) and Eugene Corley
(367437). May be susceptible to teams with a strong outside game.
Wake Forest (22795)Led by WFU03, maintainer of the excellent Training Speed Analysis thread in Global
(381.1). Held their own with a 5th place Great 8 finish in their first NBBA season. Another inside-focused team, although not yet with the top-tier big talent.
REO Speedwagon (22885)Another staff member here, GM-BadLarry, overseer of the Help forum and who knows what else. Currently in the USA III.2 finals. Hard to tell what is being trained based on the roster. Looks to have a well-balanced team, and so can be unpredictable with tactics.
Reston Thumpers (23072)Manager ardain nearly won USA's III.14 last season, and now looks like the favorite to win II.4 (against the same Finals opponent as last season!). A very international flavor to this team. Appears to have a big man training regime going, although will use outside-focused offensive tactics. Preference is for low-scoring defensive affairs, though.
Bruins (23229)Another product of USA's III.14, Solana_Steve's Bruins are on the cusp of winning that league the season after winning IV.8. Yet another team training American centers, the Bruins' tactics tend to be focused inside.
Cape Sable Sculpins (24818)Last season's Canadian I.1 runnerup, oeuftete's team performed significantly worse in the top level league this season, but did manage to bring home the Tournament title. Bucking the trend, the Sculpins are developing threats at the point, led by USA NT PG Ken Simons.
BC Törööö (24823)jbmcrock manages the soon-to-be three-time Canadian champions. Another trainer of big men, BC Törööö fills the gaps at other positions with massive investments in the transfer market, like the recent $1.46M acquisition of USA NT SG Bud Hendricks.
ESV Laim (26163)GM-Labude's Season 1 Bundesliga champions and Season 2 German tournament runner-ups are in this season's finals after putting up a Big 8-leading 18-4 regular season record. Another very international team. Looks to be training outside players, although can put up very balanced ratings.
