I have a question about the "best position" indicated for each player. Is that a fixed thing (doesn't change) or it changes if the player plays better one day in another position ?

If it doesn't change I would ilke to understand how is the effect of putting him in that position or not on his performance. And then I would leave the best position changing as a sugestion...

"Best Position" doesn't affect how they will play if they don't play in that position. You can play him anywhere you like with no penalty - it's just where the programmers think he will play best based on his skills. However, I have some players that seem to play just as well in any position. It seems that PF and C are pretty similar, actually.

To answer your first question, no I don't believe it is fixed. I swear that after a training "pop" a couple of my players changed their best position.

It would be better if it would change... I think it would be a good idea to base the "best position" on the best "rating" obtained by the player in his last 5 games, for example. I'll leave this here as a suggestion for the administrators...

Another thing about this is the HEIGHT.. How much does that count when choosing the best position for a player?? It doesn't seem to count for very much now, for example my team is full of short Centers and very tall Guards... I also wonder how much height influences in the performance of the player in the games ...

Basing the best position on the best rating wouldn't always work because people would play players out of position to get training in certain areas. For instance playing a SG at C so he can get some inside def training. Though I try to play my players where I think they would best fit, overall the best position rating is fairly good. I only play a couple of players out of the best position that the game has assigned. Guess it depends on experimenting and finding the best fits.

I don't think height counts atm either but I hope they add it

But if you play a guy out of what truly is his best position, his rating will probably be lower. And if its higher, then he's best position will change and you will have to analyze what is his real best position in your opinion. (on this idea.. don't think BB works like that yet..)

To answer a couple questions:

1) The "best position" is updated every time the training module is run, and is solely a function of the player's statistics. It can change, but it probably won't very often.
2) By the way, Stogey23, the statistics are not stored as integers, even though they are displayed that way. So, even if a player doesn't "pop," his stats may still be increasing as he trains. The change in "best position" could easily have occurred without a pop.
3) Height is taken into account in the game engine, but it may need to be tweaked slightly, given the users' (especially Arvie7's :-) ) responses to it.
