How about showing the height of the players in the draft after the second scouting, in the past I have choosen great rookies but with wacky height (pg -> 203 cm ) (c -> 196) and those are very hard to train. After the whole season investing in scouting and then hoping to have some luck to get good players you get ones with horrible height.

I agree. I know people argue that it can be difficult to be precice but seriously can you really not notice that the PG you scouted twice was 7'2"?

I guess not showing height has something to do with information sharing. It's not really hard to notice that 7,2 PG in the draft. Now perhaps some kind of height range could be introduced. Not precice height. Perhaps use 5 ranges like 5 positions?
5'9-6'1 ; 6'2-6'5 ; 6'6-6'9 ; 6'10-7'1 ; 7'2-7'6
or use 3 ranges 5'9-6'4 ; 6'4-6'11 ; 6'11-7'6

I think 3 ranges is better, the range indicates whether it is a good height what what you are looking for, and is still vague enough that it can't be used easily to share information. However, I think there should be varied height ranges and it shouldn't be fixed. So in your suggestion, a 7'0" player will be listed in the third range every time.

I am suggesting that if a player is 6'8" then a range should be created around the player automatically, so the range could be 6'7" - 7'3" or it could be 6'1" to 6"8". Basically the given height is used to create a small range around the height. The range will always contain the same number of heights. But there is no way to tell where in the range the height is, and it makes it impossible to share information.

great suggestion , just to add to it, on other players scouting page in your div it should show different heights that still match up.

so say a pg with the height range 5'11-6'5 on 1 players listing then 6'1-6'7 on another players.

thus players cant match up the heights to try and get a better pick

BBs simply don't want teams to have a chance for collusion so no matter what we think about it it won't going nowhere. Try to imagine that it is not heigh but trainability - that is hard to predict just by scouting. I guess that's the best approach as there won't be change - ever.

But one of the suggestions above is to have 3 (or 5) height categories, potentially 'short', 'medium', 'tall', and they can or cannot overlap as well. Not sure how that wil provide any chance for collusion, while it will substantially improve drafting because I don't want a tall player if I'm training guards the following season.

I guess there won't be many tall PGs or short Cs in the pool, so go figure... Add age, potential, the first rating...

Well, my limited experience is that randomness heavily influences the creation of draftees... I had several short PFs and several 'tall' PGs...

However, I want to express once again my point of view: the current draft system is so bad that it can hardly be worsened by any change. Even completely removing it and giving three random players to every user without user involvement would be better.

In fact sometimes when you are training SFs you might actually like to draft a short PF/C or a tall SG/PG depending on what aspect you are training.
