But who really gives a craB about it? huh? I think it has a great potential - but the "math" being use to choose players is really bad.... it seems it is too simple and just takes on account stats - when we really know that that is not the case always in the NBA or other leagues.

What is your opinion on how it should be done? Stats per minute? Chosen by real players?

The all star weekend/game is pretty meaningless. There is nothing to be achieved by having players on it and its outcome isn't relevant either.

I'd prefer if there was something added to it. Like 3-point shootout contestants earn money for their clubs, or the outcome of the all star game determine home court advantage of the finals (like the MLB). Also, maybe giving a bit more flexibility that allows teams to have some kind of input for setting up tactics.

Imo, currently, it's the same week as the offseason, except there's no draft to look forward to.

Yup... money seems to be the motivator that should work out the best. What we are seeing, at least in my league, is that many times the best teams don't use all the time their best players, for they have other things to worry (maybe CUP) and thus the stats of this players are limited in the league.

If you would put money in the equation - that would make people think twice and if the smaller teams were still the ones with the big numbers in the league, then that would benefit them in the long run.

Also - the stats per 48 minutes I think would be the best (minimum maybe 20 minutes per game?)

It is very difficult to set a lineup without seeing the players skills. I wouldn't mind if the leader got to pick the tactics, but again this can be difficult without knowing the skills of the players. I would much rather have it so that teams get extra merchandising or something for having players in the All Star game.

And having the leader pick the lineup might make it slightly more interesting for the leader, but everyone else in the league will still think the week is useless.

I think would be sufficient if he would see just two attributes - defence and offence, roughly calculated by players skills.

So that manager would get for these few days top players voted by fans (18 on roster) and the info that this one have 4 stars in offence and 3 in defence.

Yes - something like the info in the draft. A complete poll of the players in the division would be great, and nobody can choose their vote for their own player.

Same here - my players are already pretty well known in my country by the others which were country managers :)

Yes, the voting idea is cool, especially when a $15k player takes a SG position in S5 in II.2.

And in my opinion there is no need to reveal skills as the ASG candidates are well known in the conferences (if the player isn't well known - it's not a star!!).
