Im talking about the part in setting lineups where it says "I want my x to play defence as x".
Is it advisable to change these positions? If you think for example a situation when your C has better OD than your SG and the SG has better ID than the C.
Would that also have an affect on defensive rebounding? or is there something else to concider before changing them?

it also works well for training, if you have a guard that you want to teach big man skills to, but dont want to switch him and your center's up, you can make your guard play offense as a center, and defend at the guard positions, while your Center will defend at the center position but play ofense at the guard positions. everyone gets the minutes, and you may nbot lode the game that way.

As far as defensive rebounding goes, i think that if your SG is guarding the opponents C, and your SG has lower rebounding you will be outrebounded at that position.

what happens in this situation?
this week i train OD for PG/SG, so in one of the games i put my SF in a SG position so he collects his 48 min. on the other end, i put him on SF defensively.
question is: does he get less training because he played SG only on offense?

offense counts for training, even if you train Defence ;) So he won't lost any minute.
