Last year we saw a BC Toroo vs. Random Noise. It was the two top teams going at it, which was not to surprising. It ended up being a less then exciting finish though. Hopefully this years Canada Cup finishes with more of a BANG!
Thursday marks the first round of the Season 13 Canada Cup. Looks like most of the top teams got easy draws through to the next round. The match to watch out for this week is:
72 II Shinanagins 7/8/2010 7:00:00 PM Pain Train PRO II 18
Shinangins has had two big wins to start the year so I really doubt he will be able to manage another W this week. Is he willing to sacrafice GS and euthsiam so early in the year? I don't think so. Pain Train Pro (minus Teo) really looks like they have this game in the bag.
Best of luck to all the teams this year.

Oh great. I drew Zero Territory in the second round. Well that was a nice little cup run I had going there for one week.

Harsh draw. The Cup is all about a good draw and some serious luck. You had a nice run last season, but to duplicate that may be real tough.

The prize scale for winning a round is as follows:
Final Game: $ 300 000
Semi-Final: $ 135 000
Quarter-Final: $ 100 000
16-team round: $ 80 000
32-team round: $ 70 000
64-team round: $ 60 000
All lower rounds: $ 50 000

We're still in the lower rounds right now. Going off history I'd guess we're in the unprecedented round of 512 right now.

Yeah, you are right. There are 256 games this round, so there are 512 teams left

Well I drew the Paper Pushers in the second round of the tournament. So another second round exit is on the horizon. Hopefully I can at least make it a game. :/

My advice would be to TIE and focus on the regular season.
Tough luck bud!
