This is a fun question, although made difficult by the lack of public-knowledge regarding skills of the top players.
Still, here's my "all-BB" starting lineup, because I'm bored and killing time:
PG: Jean-Philippe Chabernaud
(4785422)
(Swiss)
SG: Ricardo Madrid
(5655072)
(American; come on, I have to, right?)
SF: Tobias Kienbink
(4599312)
(German)
PF: Zhong Feilong
(6146661)
(China)
C: Antonio Silves
(4726855)
(Portugal)

Silves is so expensive that he's averaging a transfer about every 3 weeks last season.
I wonder what the plans are for a player like this? Is he so good he's going to end up retired?
Or will some mega-team finally make the sacrifice to take him. You may notice that all of the teams who have recently acquired him were in the mid-levels (D2, D3, D4).
This to me is an example of how the economy got out of control before the designers could address rapid pricing increases. I'm wondering if he eventually levels out to a more reasonable 350k, (lol "reasonable").

Silves doesn't really have any relevance to the economy. Basically he is an unaffordable player that will be rented out every couple weeks.
I'm pretty sure the designer's are not out of control as well. This is a strategy game and you need to make decisions. To support a player like Silves you are going to need a stockpile of money to run through while he is on the roster. If you are a growing team, it is probably best to train players within your economic means.

I've definitely been trying to do just that and I get the strategy part. . .I guess my view point is that there's only a select number of teams who can handle multiple six figure salaried players. Even the team that won the B3 had two of his best players for sale the day after his win. And this guy is getting supplemental income from his B3 victories and still realizes that his economy is out of balance. If you read up in the NBBA, King Drive even comments that he must now try not to go bankrupt in the offseason. I'm sure he's joking, but still its a problem across all divisions and I think its a result of the salaries being too rapidly increased.
I think that the two wrinkles to the game that still need to be ironed out are the escalation of salaries in the first 4-5 years of a player's career and the lack of offseason income for teams that are not in the playoffs or the relegation. 5th place in my opinion shouldn't be penalized for not being in the relegation series, and I even had a guy in my league tank his final game just t finish 6th because he knows he'll win and get the revenue. I would argue that the relegation series deserves no income, or maybe a 50k bonus similar to the Cup victories, and that cash bonuses should be awarded on a tiered basis for regular season finish.
5th place teams should also have a home and away against the other 5th place team with the home team receiving 2/3 of the gates (or with attendance figures in alignment with scrimmage attendance, and a full 100% awarded).
Personally I'm facing a decision here at the beginning of the season with my 3rd post, as he is already at 21k in salary, and I know that my two other posts will see significant increases as they have trained extremely well this season. Nigel Marcus will be north of 60k and my other big Bruant is likely a 35-40k salary as well. That's a total of about 70k in salary increases between the two, and Marcus' MVP potential likely means that he will continue to train well for this year and beyond which means I have to be ready to absorb a 200k plus salary AND stay competitive enough to not be a one-trick pony.
I've watched 420 Shot Callers with Joe Bronson and its been all this guy can do just to stay up at Division 3 while training a ridiculous player.

Take a look at the average salary of D2 teams and D3 teams. If you have a 200k guy, he is going to be eating a large portion of your salary. As the U21 manager, I tell people to train these huge salary bigs. As a friend advising people, I would say to train to your competition and your means and not to the U21 standards. I'd steer all my friends away from training a NT-worthy big.
Bronson is a completely different problem. A 200k SG/PG is much better imo than a 200k C. I think I could build a low salary team around Bronson and compete in D2. Dude is just a monster. =D
EDIT: I wouldn't call Zhong Feilong a PF. I think of more Grubb's type player when I think of a good PF. Like Grubbs, but more so.
