We're officially 1/3 of the way through the season and it's time to start looking at some all-star candidates. As with last season, I ranked the players based on what I thought were the most important stats and metrics. I also considered them only for the position they played most frequently thus far this season. Not listed position, not generally accepted position, actual position.

Feel free to critique, laugh at, correct or project your own all-stars.

Note: The stats should be listed as Points / Assists / Rebounds for PG/SG and Points / Rebounds / Assists for SF/PF/C. The percentages listed are FG% / 3P% / Ast/Turnover Ratio

Also, players no longer in the league were not counted and games/minutes played were taken into account. Thus, the lack of Auerbachs.

1st Team:
PG – Zane Ritter – Slashing Dragons – 21.0 / 5.4 / 5.0 – 40% / 28% / 1.81 A/T
By far the highest point, rebound, assist combination of PGs. Dinged for his miserable Assist/Turnover Ratio.
SG – Gianluca Corigliano – W&C Bball Club – 24.5 / 4.8 / 4.0 – 44% / 30% / 4.14 A/T
Highest P/R/A combination among SGs, 2nd highest PPG in the league, good A/T ratio
SF – Homero Moreno – Technical Fouls – 16.6 / 17.4 / 3.3 – 45% / 29% / 2.09 A/T
Good luck rebounding with this guy on the floor. Second leading rebounder and does not turn the ball over or foul.
PF – Leigh Vacco – Royal Challengers – 17.2 / 15.0 / 3.6 – 49% / 50% / 1.64 A/T
One of the easiest picks in the league. 2nd highest P/R/A combination in the league (Homero Moreno).
C – Alex Watts – Royal Challengers – 16.6 / 11.6 / 1.8 – 54% / 0% / 1.13 A/T
In my opinion, the best newcomer to the league. All around good player and one of the best free throw shooters in the league.

2nd Team:
PG – Willis Lundy – Knicktardeder – 18.4 / 4.4 / 3.4 – 40% / 33% / 4.43 A/T
Although Gipson has a higher combination of points, rebounds, assists, went with Lundy due to his high PPG and high shooting percentage.
SG – Marcos Amorrortu – New York Jests – 22.6 / 3.4 / 7.0 – 41% / 33% / 3.78 A/T
3rd highest PPG for a SG but markedly better assists, rebounds and percentages
SF – Juan Víctor Bravo – W&C Bball Club – 22.3 / 8.0 / 2.2 – 39% / 40% / 0.57 A/T
League leading scorer outside of the Shooting Guard position and can also rebound. Unfortunately the league leader in turnovers (minimum of 2 games played).
PF – Ludvik Anžic – Technical Fouls – 17.0 / 10.0 / 2.7 – 59% / 50% / 1.19 A/T
Very efficient scorer which is good because he is also one of the worst foulers in the league (1 short of league lead).
C – George Steidl – I’ll Replace You With Machines – 11.7 / 15.2 / 4.0 – 51% / 14% / 4.00 A/T
Not a huge scorer but a great rebounder and the leads all big men in assists.

3rd Team:
PG – Perry Gipson – New York Jests – 16.9 / 6.3 / 5.4 – 35% / 17% / 6.30 A/T
2nd highest point, rebound, assist combination, league leader in assists and 2nd highest A/T ration in the league (Bartolomé Choque). 3rd highest rebound rate in the top 10 PGs
SG – Earl Coleman – Grim Koalas – 25.0 / 3.0 / 2.7 – 40% / 32% / 1.80 A/T
2nd leading scorer in the league, league leader in 3PA
SF – Buck Santos – SBCT Rebels – 18.8 / 10.8 / 1.5 – 42% / 25% / 0.67 A/T
Consistently one of the top players in the league but has been limited to only 4 games this season.
PF – Henning Kulle – Tacoma Sabercats – 16.8 / 10.0 / 1.8 – 43% / 0% / 1.10 A/T
Close to Anžic in points and rebounds but falls short in everything else, except personal fouls (2 short of league lead).
C – Lucas Valenciaga – Technical Fouls – 15.3 / 12.0 / 0.7 – 51% / 0% / 0.33 A/T
Tough call on this last spot. Went with the scoring over the rebounding.

Honorable Mention:
PG – Terrell Sanderson – W&C Bball Club – Almost identical stats as Lundy but with twice the turnovers.
PG – Žika Ilicevic – Dog River Riverdogs – Only other Point Guard to crack the 26 point, rebound, assist level. Highest rebound rate among PGs but poor assist/turnover rate.
SG – Jim Carmichael – I’ll Replace You With Machines – No other Shooting Guard was even close to the top 3 but Carmichael should be noted for his exceptional 3 point game, hitting 40% of his 5.8 3PA per game.
SF – Monty Tapia – Slashing Dragons – Best scorer of remaining Small Forwards
SF – Paolo Sottocornola – I’ll Replace You With Machines – Best rebounder of remaining Small Forwards
SF – Marc Gispert – Grim Koalas – Best passer of remaining Small Forwards
PF – Raymond Timmons – I’ll Replace You With Machines – Probably, personally most frustrating player. I’d also wager he’s one of the most uniquely trained players in the league.
PF – Josemar Lazara – Phoenix Blue Suns – One of the better rebounders at the position.
C – Federico Agustín Rojas – Tacoma Sabercats – League leader in rebounds and tied for the lead in A/G for big men. Does not score though.
C – Eimontas Markelionis – Grim Koalas – Worth pointing out that he is one of the few players who has more ORB/G then missed FG/G. Actually creates possessions on average.

Great stuff.

So apparently everyone is guarding Sanderson ridiculously well, opening up Corigliano to go to town . . . Hmm . . .

I wouldn't say ridiculously well. He's performed as well as any PG in the league except for in TOs.

Wow, where do you find the time?

And here I thought of myself as a stats geek, looking at all league teams and the such. All this time I was just a lazy assed poseur.
