I think the player builds need to be more realistic. For example, I drafted a rookie this season with a respectable jump shot but atrocious free throw shooter. Now what basketball player in history has a good jump shot but can't make a free throw? Good jump shot should equal good free throw shooter IMO.
There was a similar problem with driving & handling. If you're a good ball handler you'll be a good driver as well, BB has fixed that problem now which is great.

This game has different skills. So it assigns different values to new players. Are you saying we can't draft player with 2 driving and 7 handling? Stop complaining and use Team training FT. Easy fix.

I'm saying it's unrealistic and illogical to have a respectable jump shooter and atrocious free throw shooter. it doesn't work that way in real life. All the greatest shooters are among the best free throw shooters as well. The only atrocious free throw shooters have generally been big men who can't shoot.

Is it realistic, that you can just fit more and more seats into your arena? Is it realistic that your staff asks for a small raise every week? Is it realistic you can sell players in basketball and pay tax based on his time spent on a team? Is it realistic that the players for the top Countrys play in x countrys IV-th league? everything about training, salarys etc etc.
You need to stick with unrealistic sometimes, when it suits the game better.
If you will tie FT to JS then it will make team training FT pointless.

I agree when it suits the game better to deal with the unrealistic.

What my complaint is about doesn't suit the game well. I need to waste weeks of training a good shooter @ free throws? What goofy ****. I don't think it needs to be tied necessary but remain close, similar to driving/handling.

I hope that isn't your best argument, because "oh it'll make free throws pointless to train". Shot blocking and Game Shape are both already useless.

Edit: No swearing please.

I think shotblocking is underrated. As for gameshape there are times when it is worth training. So shotblocking and gameshape are not useless.

My take on this is to leave it as is.

But if you insist on a fix, I think the best way to change JS training from:

(from Training Analysis thread)

Guards:
Trains JS @ 2-3 weeks
Trains JR @ 7-8 weeks
Trains HN @ 7-8 weeks
Trains DV @ 7-8 weeks

To

Trains JS @ 3-4 weeks
Trains JR @ 8-10 weeks
Trains HN @ 8-10 weeks
Trains DV @ 8-10 weeks
Trains FT @ 6-8 weeks

... or something similar.

The game is not a sprint. If you don't like the player and do not plan to train FT's more than once in a season. Perhaps just sell him and buy a player that suits your needs. What is your next request? Being able to train anything at any position?
GS training has it's place (for salary capped teams or teams with game shape problems before playoffs). FT training can be used with lvl1 trainer and 20+ players for example.

I totally disagree with you. Shotblocking not only helps players to block shots, it improves their ability to play inside defense. Training GS improves how well your players perform on the court. Both of those facts make me believe that training those skills can be of great value to your team's success.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
