Since it is a bit buggy right now I haven't had a ton of time to think it through but a quick look at it makes one thing clear: It is going to be way harder for top prospects to drop far down in the draft due to luck since everyone is getting a pre-ranked list. I am sure there will be a few mis-scouted players or low skill/high potential (or vice versa) who will drop but it will be more rare than it has been in the past, even in bot leagues.

I am also impressed that there now appears to be a great deal of strategy involved in scouting (where do you spend the points? At the top of the list and hope players drop? The clusters of spots where you think you'll be picking? Do you spend ten points getting a report on the dregs of the draft since you know you'll end up having to pick at least one of them?)

Huge improvment and I am excited to see how it all works out come draft day.

Now that I've actually used the system I take back my previous comment.

The initial scouting report that you get is way, way off. Tons of good players are still going to drop to late spots in the draft.

1 "piece of information" from the old system = one scouting point under the new system.

So per week: 5k = 1 point, 10k = 2 points, 20k = 3, 40k = 4

I have been spending 30k most of the season because I figured I would be super curious about the system. I think it paid off. I at least enjoy this system much, much more than I had previously.

I think that the initial unscouted ranking is a rough approximation of combined skill and potential but that there is also a fair amount of just straight up inaccurate scouting which is there intentionally. Either way I am very excited to learn a totally new facet of the game.

So there is two parts to this right the other one starts before the draft. So far I have enjoyed this in system and if I am correct than I think ill like draft day too!

My expectations were wildly different for the whole process. But overall it's pretty cool. Better. I've had weak results so far spending $20k per week. The "word on the streets" ratings have been rife with inaccuracies, and though I've only seen a small sample size, I still can't see myself taking them seriously. I've scouted three word on the street 5 ball star rating prospects and 2 of them came back as 2 ball star rating prospects and the other a 3 ball star rating prospect. Hopefully I scout a decent player soon.

its pretty cool that we can get the whole list of heights and age in 1 shot
but in the end, it costs more to completely scout the draftees compared to the old system
... it makes up for it by letting u choose and filter who to scout

definitely more interactive than the old one and puts less on luck
there is actually some strategy on scouting now... whether u fight for the 18yo or take ur chances with a higher rating 19yo... and height... etc

i like it =)
unless i dont get to draft any of the players i scouted

I like it loads better. I was getting really frustrated by my scounts continually scouting 19 year olds with no skills a 2nd time.

This way when it happens it will be all my fault!

The system is fantastic. If you spend the full $40K over the whole season and do things right, you should be able to fully scout all the top 18 year old prospects. However, if you spend $10K or less, you will not get much information.

The baseline information is pretty inaccurate. Which is a good thing, in my opinion.
