Well I am not absolutely sure how to implement it(hopefully someone else does) but i think maybe a salary cap per division. I am not sure exactly how much each divisions salary cap would be(again some replies could sort this out). I am think very strongly that the top division should have no salary cap. I think it could make the buzzerbeater experience more like being a professional manager. Having to worry about the salary cap and such.
Now I am one who tries to look at each side of the argument and I have noticed that this would give the top division teams a much easier go of it during the national cup, however, if any lower division teams can pull off the upset it would prove that using the cap you have properly and being smart tactically can be more effective than talent(however in the end talent wins xD). I don't really think the BBs will bring this to the game, but its and interesting thought I think.

There is a "salary cap" in place already. It consists of max arena income + merc + tv contract attainable for that division/league.

Correct, I hear that for teams in the Aussie ABBL it is in effect around $450,000 a week( but this does seem very low, can anyone confirm), whereas in Australian division III (I am a lot more confident with this figure) I think about $300,000 gross income a week before costs is the most I have heard. If your costs are above that you will need to suppliment your income with cup wins (obviously easier for an ABBL team than one in division III) and player sales.

450k to 500k is the salary cap for australian div 2. So ABBL would be much higher.

I am above the 500k and there is plenty of space to get more money - but I think that 600-650k is the maximum for a DIVII, maybe an Italian could tell us more.

You make about 290k from your arena. 112k from tv contract. That is 400k.
Are you saying you earn over 100k in merchandising??
