Hi,
a) if I get a 18 years old, 5'11 prospect listed as a center, why is that? Is his position determined by his size, his skills, a combination of size/skills, or is it random?
b) If I train his outside defense and his passing/driving, will he eventually be listed as a point guard?
(PS: I know it doesn't matter during a game what position he is, but I'm just curious why we never see 7'1 pg's or 5'11 c's playing for national teams. I'm guessing it's because their role can change over time? If this has been answered somewhere in some obscure thread already, I'm sorry.)

yes the role is determined by his skills....and changes as you train a player
so if you get a 5'11 c and start training his outside skills he will become a guard in some time....
the reason why there are no 7'1 PGs or 5'11 Cs is that height is a really important thing on training... a tall player trains his outside skills slower than a 5' 11 for example.... and the same for Cs... a small Center will train his inside skills slower than a 7' one....
I hope I answered you questions :)

Yes, this confirms my thoughts. Thank you very much.
