I know that having a national player will get more merchandise, but will a national player play better at own country?

For example my country is Malaysia, and I have 2 PG, 1 is Malaysian and another 1 non-Malaysian, will my Malaysian PG play better than the non-Malaysian PG during home game?

Nationality has nothing to do with perfromance. Nationality only helps with merchandise sales.
