The repechage begins tonight for us, with a chance to qualify for Worlds on the line. For those that aren't familiar with the process, we're in a 4 team group with Hong Kong, Senegal and Portugal. We play each team once, and the top team from our group advances to worlds. So, there's very little room for error as 2nd place goes to the consolation tourney.

Hong Kong is ranked #18 in the world, and is in the repechage after losing in the Asian qualifier semi-finals last season.

For those that have taken an interested in getting more involved with the NT/u21 teams following the u21 election debate, now's a good time to start! There's a thread up on game plan options on the offsite here:

If you don't have an account on the offsite yet, there are instructions in this thread: (136866.1). Please make SURE to bb-mail me the email address you used to sign up with so I can verify the account. Also, please use either your team or bb user name when signing up there, so people know who they're talking to.

The game's at 6pm and I'll be in the chat, so even if you don't check out the offsite, stop by during the game!

yeah agreed. I already post on the offsite in my team thread but im gonna start following the NTs closer now :D i will hopefully be in the game tonight.

good turnout too.

yeah, was nice to see so many new and familiar faces there. sadly, the game didn't go as well. HK CT'd us in an attempt to advance on PD (that will fail miserably... playing portugal with 2-3 enthusiasm next week is going to destroy their PD beyond any hope of advancing). sadly, we look like the ones stuck in the crossfire, as portugal will now get another freebie game to run up their PD. meaning even if we beat them, they're likely to be so far ahead in PD that we can't catch up.

which isn't to say that we're giving up, but that as crappy an outcome as this was, the fact that they ct'd is what really screws us (and them, not that it's much consolation).

well this game sucked haha. and the fact that they CTd so now we have a bad chance of advancing.

hopefully it plays out in our favor and we can advance...
