I believe this other thread was closed too soon (162391.1).

The question is: is it acceptable to lose after starting the 4th quarter ahead by 20+ points and all subs in?
As far as I know there have been only a few cases, but when it happens it sucks really bad.

On the one hand, nobody forces you to have poor reserves or to select 10+ players for the game.
On the other hand, there is not control whatsoever over the garbage time, and too often the coach takes too long to put the starters back in.

It must be extremely frustrating to lose a game in this fashion but beanerz summed it perfectly in the other thread, starters were put back with a 12 pts lead to hold onto and they choked. The bench can't take the blame alone, the starters screwed it big time too :(
Anyway, I believe if you have two benchers under 4k in Serie A, you increase the odds of this happening very highly, you have to accept the risk vs reward. It may be good for the payroll but may cost you a win from time to time.

King Kong was unlucky to finish the 3rd quarter with 21 points advantage instead of 19

and he was very happy, that he leads anyway ;)

And i am against, at stopping a game after the third quarter, it don't happen that often and in reality this is happen from time to time, too.
