I had 10 fouls in the 1Q, and early in the 2Q both my starting and backup center had 3 PF and were benched. They came back in the 2nd half, and neither picked up a 4th foul until late in the 4Q.

I think that the current foul trouble algorithm is too severe. I'd rather a player not play 12 minutes because he did foul out, than not play 12 minutes because he might foul out.

So perhaps in figuring substitutes, foul trouble could be factored in more like stamina is - as a player tires, his backup is more likely to be brought in, but the relative skills are also taken into account; rather than the current system where a player with 3 PF will sit in the 2Q, and 4 PF will sit in the 4Q.

An alternative might be to have players with more fouls play more cautiously, primarily reducing their defensive, rebounding, and shot block ability. Of course, this change should be made in a way that it does not increase the likelihood of fouling.

A good suggestion.

I think this is something the BBs should look at very closely if they haven't done so already. Either make it a decision for us owners in the team selection screen (ie. a drop-down option that says Don't Worry About Fouls, Default and Don't Risk Fouling Out) or make it hard-coded and out of our hands as suggested above, or leave the system as it is.

Problem with option 1 is the extra coding involved, problem with option 2 is that some managers will be unhappy with players fouling out more often.

For my part, just like jimrtex, I hate it when one of my starters gets two or three fouls early and as a result only plays 15 minutes and the player he should be guarding goes nuts and drains 35 points over my back-up. I'd rather the starter plays an extra eight minutes and contribute more to the team before fouling out.

I got trouble with foul trouble, every time i meet a weaker team (i'm on a way for 22-0), the guys i trained goes out every game or almost. Regardless that's my best defensive player, defending a bot player, someone still manage to be fouled out, including in 100 point difference games....that's so unfair, when you go in a division with many bots or weak tems, you know your training will be messed up with these random rejections (i don't count the times my opponents scores only FT, with my players making fouls in no shot situation, just to be kind with them)

Today's game against the 2nd of my conference, i won 96 - 48, my PG fouled out after 27 minutes, my SG after 45, just for fun, except that it aint fun at all
