I noticed that when the wording '<player> tries to grab the rebound, but the ball goes out of bounds.' (As seen in today's Friendly (29287502), 3:28 1st quarter), the player gets credit for the rebound. If he had possession and the ball goes out of bounds, should he not also get a Turnover? Can't have one without the other.

Could he have lunged himself to get the ball but missed it?

Technically speaking, the player never had possession in situations like this one, so he shouldn't be credited with neither turnover, nor a rebound. This should be a "Team Rebound" for the team that retains possession, but given that BB doesn't count team rebounds, there is really no elegant way to solve this, I guess.
