The question then is, why would you want less money? If your intent is to go bankrupt faster, just buy some ungodly high salaried player. Otherwise I can't comprehend why you'd want to purposefully cripple your finances like that.

The more season ticket holders you have, the higher your attendance will be. More attendance = more money.

Season Ticketholders give you money every game, always marked toward attendance. If you were to lose every game this season, make all your fans hate you, and drive them all to another city to watch another team, you still have those season ticket-holders who have paid for every game no matter if they show up or not.
