I tried out Inside Box and one and Inside Isolation with my B lineup and it was pretty good against the top team in my league we only lost by 10. (btw they had HCA and we were TIE)

it kept thier Inside shooting down to about Pitiful. heres is link (29689415)

Your tactics have absolutely no impact on the opposing team's ratings.

I ran Outside Box and 1 yesterday and it was a bit of a disaster. For some reason the game engine decided that my best perimeter defender was not Sylvain Milot (Colossal outside D) but was instead Scott Romero (not colossal OD). So I had my centre chasing a $120k salary scoring point guard around the court, contesting threes and picking up fouls. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again any time soon.

Outside Box and 1 isnt ur best offensive Defender Guarding them its ur team focusing on the other teams best outside Shooter. its like a 4-1 Zone where 4 people guard the outside and 1 guy guards the paint( not a good idea) that is why im sticking to Inside Box and 1 because id rather have them make 3s than hit layups

I don't think that's what the outside box and one scheme is. It's a 4 man box zone and 1 man guarding the best perimeter player man to man.

It's more like 4 guys guard the paint and 1 man guards the perimeter player as far as I can tell.

That is 100% incorrect.

Because I know you won't believe me:

From the BB news post about how it works in this game:
Box-and-one is a defensive tactic, where four players play in the zone defense protecting the basket and the fifth player plays a man-to-man defense guarding the best offensive player on the other team. This is designed to prevent that player from getting the ball as often, as the man to man defender can overplay defensively knowing that he has a zone backup.

From wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box-and-one_defense
In a box-and-one defense, four players play zone defense, and align themselves in a box protecting the basket, with typically the two larger (or frontcourt) players playing directly under the basket, and the two smaller (or backcourt) players playing towards the foul line.

The fifth defensive player in a box-and-one defense plays man to man defense, typically marking the best offensive player on the other team.
