Does low post always go to your center or will it pick out your PF if he's the better inside scorer? I think it will but I just wanted to confirm.

Why did your SF take most of the shots? Your PF and C both had better matchups. Thats why I never like to play low post, seems like even if you have a monster on the inside your wingmen still take most of the shots.

Btw, anyone have any thoughts on how the new inside isolation plays out in comparison to low post? I know its a little early to compare but any ideas would be welcome.

I have played a couple games with inside isolation and my team shot quite a few threes as well...but i have noticed its from a lot of passes coming from the inside. Your guys will get isolated down low and either make a move and take their shot or the will dish out to the guy outside for an open three. My team also gets its best ratings with that tactic as well.

As I understand the intent of an inside isolation offense, a lot of threes does not seem surprising. As smallfrie said, I'd expect the threes to come off of passes back out from the C/PF when he can't get his shot. Since he's the only player on the inside, the other four are spread out around the perimeter looking for long jumpers when their defenders crash inside to help out. Essentially the offense of the Olajuwon Rockets or the Howard Magic. The idea on these teams is to surround the dominant big man with good outside shooters, as either the big man will overpower his defender and get layups and close shots, or he'll pass it back out to the set-up shooters to kill the other team from long distance if the other defenders try to help out.

Thank you for sharing Manon and CrazyEye. I don't know what to make of the offense though. I initially thought that all those 3s might be from passes from the big men but in both those games the big guys hardly have an assist. At any rate this inside isolation looks like it has very little in common with low post (shouldn't they be similar?) - maybe its closer to the Princeton offence..
