What defense is best versus the Motion offense? Man-to-Man or something stronger against the perimeter game like a 3-2?

How much will 3-2 hurt my rebounding?

Thanks,

Steve

my next game is also v a team that likes to play motion....

i will of course show the team respect and will use players that have good OD in the PG/SG/SF positions but I think you also have to take into consideration the fact he will have scouted you and if I were him I would be more worried about stopping you!

I am a firm believer in playing to your strengths and let your opponent do the worrying.... you can of course counter his most obvious player/set up but not if that means radically changing your set up...

as many threads have discussed Motion at these levels relies alot on random and with respect to his recent ratings I would not be worried until they hit Respectable+

as for lowering rebounding - i find this impossible to judge as i have rarely played 2 identical games (home or away) with the same enthusiasm to make a judgement.

I would play Man-to-man as you to make your defence more balanced, because his offence seems to be. And your ratings should still be better in both OD and ID than his offense.

Focus on outside defense should only be if you are up against an opponent, where this is crucial to stop him. Otherwise you might have problems if he decides to go inside.

And in a game like this, what you want to do is stay out of problems, because then you should win (except if Random Factor kicks in).
