Spent my D4 days trying to build up a sizeable arena to build for the long term and it only has served to completely bite me in the rear. I have this huge 10k arena, which did well in D3, I was selling out games for a while, the next season attendance dropped but was still making money.

Ever since I demoted to D4 though, I have not seen a hair over 6500 in attendance. This is incredibly frustrating because my attendance is poor, at only around 115k a week and I can barely afford my expenses. Furthermore, I've made the semifinals now for two seasons in D4 and am about a player away, but cannot even attain him because I make no money, and even training wise, I can't even afford to train my best players anymore.

My ticket prices are fairly low, 10 for bleachers, and usually around 55 percent of the max. This game's economy is the most convoluted thing about it, it really seems like quite a hopeless situation. I feel like the only way to save this team is to implode and sell away all of my players...but with the current deflation it would only hurt me even more in the long run, and put me at least 5 seasons away from even coming anywhere near promotion again.

Wow, you got dropped into an insanely competitive D.IV. Your conference rivals of Forza and Deportivo are in the same Salary / Arena situation as you are though, so that's a little light in the darkness.

Maximizing your arena, prices look to be best at 10 / 38 / 100-110 / 900, so you're looking pretty good there after you update your pricing. Also look into getting cheaper Staff to save some money. You've got a chance at moving back up into D.III by winning out in the playoffs, so I'd be making sure you hit at least 4th while banking as much as possible until then. If that means dropping a couple of your lower salary guys and living with a Competent Doctor/ PR, so be it. At least you'll have a decent amount of cash to pick up a surprising ringer just before playoff timing and crush Forza or Deportivo. If you can hit the finals, I don't see how your roster would lose against anything the other conference can throw at you.

you can easily save up to 12k or more weekly by cutting ur roster to 10 playes by selling or firing some of the scrubs that you have.
also if ur going to make it into the play-offs, it might be advisable to cut down on ur scouting. Also saves u some money.
Over 8 weeks or so remaing, u cud save more than 150k (depending on how much u spend on scouting). Also the Staff demotion that was proposed is a good idea to go along with that.
Also if ur out of the Cup, just keep 5 starters and 3 solid backups and get rid of the rest.

You can't manage GS properly with only 12 players.

I don't want to be playing any of my 4 starters in scrimmages.

It's much easier to manage GS with 12 players (but 2 or 3 of them are scrubs, who will play in the scrimmage).
If you think about it, say you have 8 players roster. The average minutes each player will receive every week would be; 90 minutes (48*5*3/8), which is too much. If you have 12 players roster, the average minutes each player will receive every week would be; 60 minutes, which is very very ideal.
I'm not saying everybody will play exactly 60 minutes...because that's almost impossible, but on average, playing 60 minutes and 90 minutes is a huge difference. 90 minutes will drop the GS, increase the chance of injury etc compared to 60 minutes. Ofc when you have 8 players roster as an example, you could always play 3 players for the scrimmage etc, but anyway, having 12 players will be much easier to manage GS (unless u're training GS every week).

Or he could have Depth in his bench and then just go Starter/Backup for every odd numbered game and Backup/Starter for even numbered games.
so like
you can put ur trainee's as either Starters/backups depending on thier Skill's
Game 1:
Starters/backups
Game 2: Put your trainees in the oposite spot so if they were starters make them Backup and viceversa
Backups/Starters
Game 3:same as gameone put your trainee's where you had em p.s i suggest you stick with one trainee and focus on him
Starters/Backups

I suggest you TIE(take it easy) some games you might not win many games but after a while your Enthusiasm will go up alot after about 1-2 weeks you will start winning games with TIE( take it Easy).

thats my 20cents.
please dont buy scrubs on your team that just gives your team a weakspot

with the 10 man roster your team's average minutes is 60-74 which is good enough

that equation that person gave you doesnt workout unless you have the same starters start everygame and every player play the same minutes
I can't Force you to use this all i can say is that it works for me and it might work for you p.s try to find your teams tactic and play style as that too will help with games
