You all have seen this mysterious beast in the flesh. It stalks your games...and suddenly strikes!

I'm getting a little tired of the Instantaneous Basket. It occurs when one team starts a possession and then, in the same second, scores. Tonight I saw one example when a player claimed a defensive rebound and then, as if by magic, scored an inside shot, within one second.

Claimed the ball. Sprinted down the court. Scored. One second.

Please can the great and wise BBs, in their wisdom, add some code to the match engine that means at least a few seconds come off the clock?

I've seen shots scored after only 1 or 2 seconds. Ok, not by the same guy who grabs the rebound under his own basket, but maybe this guy makes a long pass and another guy who was already running down the court catches the ball and scores on the fastbreak.

Moreover, I think many of those "interceptions" we see during the game should unleash a fastbreak which most of the times would finish with the guy who stole the ball scoring or assisting. Though this is off the topic, I know.

I've no problem at all with one or two second possessions. It's the zero seconds coast-to-coast plays I object to.

And thanks for the link, CitB, I thought someone had brought it up before.
