Hi,
My trainee Gergely Száva was playing as a PG in the cup match today to train one position OD and I set the lineup so that he'll play 48 minutes at PG (I set him as a starter, backup and reserve). However, he ended up getting 37 minutes and one of my scrubs played the rest (11 minutes).
I only selected 9 players.
I used Strictly Follow the Depth Chart.
I used Let Them Play for the foul trouble.
He didn't get injured during the game.

So how on earth was he not able to get 48 minutes and subbed out during the game!? Is it because the game was a blow out??? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

How many fouls did he commit? Also, he might have been injured without consequences - he just didn't play any longer for that game.

He only committed 1 foul, and he didn't get injured during the game at all. I'm aware that sometimes the players get injured only for that game, but even that didn't happen.
This was the first time I've experienced something like this. I've been training one position training for quite a while now but this has never happened to me before. It looks like I should change the training, since 37 minutes for one position training is not very effective.

I have had same problem, let's just say that coach wanted to play others .. that's why I always select 6 max for friendly because coach woun't have anyone to subside.

At the moment my roster do have bad GS because of National Cup, but tomorrow (after training) Gs will be just fine because this week most of my players got enough mins. and no one had to much mins..

I'm doing the exact same thing you do about training. The problem you have occurs quite often with so many players at the game. I've figured out that taking only 7 players to a game seems to be the perfect deal. That means one as reserve and backup for SG/SF and one for PF/C. I haven't had any problems with this tactic yet.

9 players was your problem. Any more than 8 on your active roster and your coach goes crazy.
