After watching the NBA stuff last night, I got a few ideas... I think during allstar week there could maybe be a 3on3 tournament between all the teams in the league. Like you would pick your 3 players and then the winner gets a small bonus. Just to add a little more fun to it.

ASG is not meant to give any team an advantage so there shouldn't be any bonuses given out.

Also there are better things to do to refine the current ASG format rather than make brand new development. Things to improve such as ASG voting process, game engine, etc would go a long way to make ASG a lot more enjoyable

Instead of traying to change the selection system of the all-star players, why not making the all-star even more atrative. Why not having a human all-star team manager? I posted this in the spanish forum an every one looked very entusiasted with the idea. Lets see if i can translate it.

1º) When the All-star week is coming, you woll have a new option in your menu. You can inscribe yourself as the All-star manaer of your concerence and vote other teams except you (inscribed) as your conference all-star manager. If there is no candidates, the system can continue as it is now, with a bot taking the destion and playing allways neutral offense and defense. If there is a tie in elections, the team with better position in league will be the all-star team manager of his conference.

2º) The manager can select players of any team to play in any position. Giving an oportunity for those players training away from his natural position. Obiusly you can not see their skills, but you can take your decision based on statistics and salary.

3º) We want a normal match. Not one without defenses and minutes calculated previusly. A match like the ones of the national teams, played in a neutral stadium. With diferent tactics and everything.

4º) It is said that no advantage in game it is fair, but a trophy in player´s history and a special trophy given to the manager of the conference will be great.

Imagine what a wonderfull idea to make the All-Star a real competition between conferences. Reactivating the forum with discusions of All-Star team manager candidates. with a trophy to the winer and the best players he can find in the teams of his conference. With diferent tactics and strategies. I know it is dificult, but i am sure it will make a bored week one of the more interesting and funny ones. Someone thinks like i do? Espress your opininon please. An sorry for my english, it is dificul to express a dificult idea in another language. I only studied english at the school and i am 31 YO now! xD

I would love this, but if you were the manager you would be able to see all the players' attributes :(

Maybe those are hidden when you pick the team and you youd just have to guess/assume if the player has good OD or something haha

Yea part of the original post mentioned that you would not get to see player's skills. Most managers who this would be fun for pay attention to players in their league however and would have a good ballpark idea of what skills their all-stars have.

I'd like to make an addition though, instead of having some kind of convoluted voting process simply let the best manager who wants to manage the game manage it. Under the 'All-Star Weekend' tab there could be a checkbox that you click which says I'd like to manage my conference's all-star team. Then the best team in the standings who has clicked this box gets to set lineups.

I think this would be fun!

convoluted voting process? I donn´t know exactly wat convoluted means but i can imagine. Convolution it´s great for forums. Most of the forums in lower divisions are simply dead. It will inccentivate managers to make a campain, use the forum and generate new rivlaries. I think it would be better than letting the better team to make the desition, but even like that, it would be better than it is now.

2 problems arise here.

1. you want to give training minutes for the allstar game - I dont like it

2. if a manager can pick the allstars himself I guess this would more often than not mean that this players allstar-team (or at least a big amount of the allstars selection) would be his own players.

about2 i also don't see a more objective vote by the manager, and with the actual asd engine the vote and the player with the best stats is the intresting part of the ASD.
And that why i don't like tactics like Run and Gun or look inside there, ASD is a game for Fun to show who the best in the div and who pick the best tactic(and maybe i don't want my C to be a passing station for the guards there^^).

Also i won't give the skills to my opponents, if i like to do so i would put them constantly on sale and someone winning a stupid vote shouldn't change this.

This will not cause many lower level managers to care. The ones who don't post on forums still won't post and then you're stuck voting for teams who don't show up. Also, I could see people voting for less deserving teams who don't deserve to the position because they dislike the #1 who always beats up on them in league play.

I don´t think the players should have minutes for training. Perhaps i did not express my self correctly. I am thinking in a system similar to the national team but without experience too.
